Are we now going to see a [Read More] link at the end of every tweet as we scroll through our timeline?
As someone who uses Twitter and actually enjoys using it much more then any of the other social media platforms I certainly hope not. Tho, I do prefer this option then seeing people post magazine article length rants on what has offended them at any given time. Imagine the workout your poor thumbs or fingers would get if everyone you followed hammered out 5-10 tweets a day at this length. You would be stuck scrolling for days just to get to that one witty 140 character tweet that you love coming across every day.
Yes, you could unfollow people who do this which is likely what I will do if too many people adapt and start using character 141 and beyond.
To me there is something satisfying about cranking out a tweet and looking to see that it all fits and there is no more characters left to use, its as if it was meant to be. Its the Holy Grail of tweets. 140 characters and nothing left to say, no room to add anymore and no shortened or misspelling of words so that it can fit in.
